Ever since I became interested in photography I have always admired the wedding photogapher. Their ability to capture those precious moments of love, and of family, all the while telling a story of new beginnings. Of a couples love and embarking on their new life together.
I'll admit, at first I didn't want to be a wedding photographer. Not because I had no interest in it, but because I didn't think I would ever be good enough. I NEVER want to be one of those photographers that ruins a couples special day by serving up horrible photos. But after years of honing my photographic skills in other areas I happened to end up photographing a wedding completely by chance. To say I loved it would be an understatement! But I'll say it anyway. I LOVED IT! It was a day that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Since then, I've made it my life goal to become the best wedding photographer I can be and provide as many happy couples with as many gorgeous photos as I can.
A Brief History
I first picked up a camera when I was very young, about 8 or 9. My father let me use his prized Pentax K1000, a camera that I still love to use today. However, photography remained a hobby and I ended up working in the Information Technology industry as a Telecommunications and Software Engineer (ie: gadget geek). Photography was always there though.
In 2007 however, after deciding to buy a new lens for my camera (remember, gadget geek), I suddenly started looking at the world very differently. I'm not sure why. Maybe I had matured, maybe I needed a change, or maybe it was the distortion on my new ultra-wide-angle lens. Either way, I discovered that I was capable of seeing much more than just what the camera captured and I started ‘making images’, instead of just taking photos.
It was then that my hobby became my obsession.
Since then I have photographed just about everything you can think of. Including portraits, landscapes, commercial photos, magazine features, motorsport events, real estate photos, artwork for websites and even an album cover! I just love taking photos!
But wedding photography is where I found my true calling...
